GROW YOUR VERY OWN BROAD BEAN PLANT!

PLEASE NOTE, THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED - kits were distributed earlier in March.

Collect your Bean kit from one of the show's organisers - details on social media. The instructions read as follows...

Welcome to the Children’s competition 2024. You now have a pot, two seeds and some compost. In mid March you need to read the planting instructions and sow your seeds (you'll have two!). Then, nurture them, talk to them, give them lots of love, and be ready with your broad bean plant for show day!

On the day of the Seale and Sands summer show, bring your broad bean and see how you and your fellow young competitors have fared over the growing season. There will be six categories for judging:

        A. Best plant

        B. Tallest plant

        C. Shortest plant

        D. Most flowers

        E. Most bean pods

        F. Best decorated pot - judged by age (3-5 years, 6-8 years, 9-11 years).

We are looking forward to seeing you with your wonderful broad beans on Saturday 6th July.

ALSO... When you pick up your kit, there will be a competition for your parents...

MArigolds for Mums and DAisies for Dads. Children - make sure your parents take part - they have their own category and you should make sure they love and nurture their plants, just like you!

Look out for the seeds for your Mums and Dads!

 IMPORTANT NOTE:

BROAD BEAN SEEDS can be highly dangerous if consumed. Children should be under adult supervision when the seeds are planted. The Seale and Sands Summer Show can not be held responsible once the seeds have been given to a resident.
