Seale and Sands Queens Diamond Jubilee Street Party 2nd June 2012.
Everyone danced along to live music and singing performed by villagers, plus face painting and soft drinks were on hand, and the Royal British Legion and Barley Mow supplied Jubilee ale and jugs of Pimms.
Diamond Jubilee Street Party committee chairman Mike Reynolds said, "Just as for the Royal Wedding last year, residents have come together and shown great community spirit. Everyone is having great fun and we have been blessed with sunshine. The street party committee would like to thank all the helpers and residents for making it such a fantastic day."
As part of committee's involvement, eligible children in the villages, who registered, received a commemorative Jubilee mug, provided by the Seale and Sands Parish Council.

The Green was closed for the special occasion and was adorned with bunting, flags and balloons. Tables stretched the length of the road decorated in red, white and blue and the residents generously filled the tables with food fit for the Royal Wedding Breakfast.
Lady Ball, draped in Union Flag, opened the event at 4.00pm and the festivities began. There was live music and singing, face painting, fancy dress competition and more while the Royal British Legion and the Barley Mow kept everyone watered in the glorious spring sunshine.
Chairman of the organising committee, Ann Payne, said, “It is a wonderful occasion, the community have really come together today and are part of something special. The Wedding has really captured everyone’s imagination and I think we all wanted to do something to mark the day.”
Fiona Jones, a resident of The Sands said, “What an amazing day! We all watched the Wedding on TV then carried on the festivities at the street party. Brilliant atmosphere, so many people – I’ve spoken to people I’ve never spoken to before and made some new friends.”
The event was such a great success that the residents are already thinking about the next event – celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee in 2012.
